The Guardian of Israel Neither Slumbers or Sleeps

Dear Friends

As the IDF gears up for a ground offensive - we too must be moved. Today is the 12th of Tamuz - in 1927 the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneerson OBM was arrested by the communists and sentenced to death. Miraculously his sentence was commuted and he was to be sent into exile. Through further miracles he was released on the 12/13th Tamuz and he was able to continue his holy work to strengthen Yiddishkeit in Russia. He showed us that even in the darkest hour we must remain steadfast, committed and determined.

Similarly today - we all must stand as one - with the realisation that we need G-d's help and miracles to protect us. On numerous occasions like this - especially prior to the Six Day War the Rebbe called upon every Jew to strengthen our spiritual protection and therefore our physical one.

A call upon all the community that tomorrow - Friday -

1. All men should lay Tefillin and pray for the success of Operation Protective Edge and all residents of Israel and especially the IDF should be safe and sound

2. Ladies - I ask that each of you lights the Shabbat Candles before 9pm and makes a heartfelt prayer on behalf of our people.

3. I ask that we all gather in Shul on Shabbat to recite extra Tehillim for the safety and security of Israel.
